Investigation
The Turkish Competition Board launched an investigation into six undertakings operating in the pilotage and towage sector for allegedly violating Article 4 of Act No 4054 by complicating other competitors’ activities and foreclosing the market through anti-competitive agreements.

The Belgian Competition Authority fined Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Haleon a total of €11,249,280.48 for running an anti-competitive category management arrangement that limited competition in the placement of OTC medicines in pharmacies, such as by favoring their own products in the design and implementation of shelf layouts.
The European Commission closed its investigation into Apple’s user choice obligations under the Digital Markets Act after Apple improved the browser choice screen, simplified the process for changing default settings, and allowed the uninstallation of pre-installed apps like Safari.
Six European competition authorities published a joint statement highlighting that strong competition, especially in the telecommunications sector, is crucial for strengthening the EU Single Market and supporting investment, innovation, and growth.
The European Commission fined Apple €500 million and Meta €200 million for breaching the Digital Markets Act (DMA), with Apple violating its anti-steering obligation by preventing app developers from informing users of alternative offers, and Meta failing to give consumers a choice of a service that uses less of their personal data by introducing a binary ‘Consent or Pay’ model.
